About Pascal Wiggers

Pascal Wiggers is an Associate Lecturer for Responsible Artificial Intelligence at the Faculty of Digital Media & Creative Industry (FDMCI) at the University of Applied Science (HvA) and a board member of the AI, Media and Democracy Lab. He is focused on developing AI with a keen eye towards public values, and is committed to exploring the individual, social, and ethical implications of AI.

Wiggers obtained his Ph.D. from TU Delft in 2008. During his tenure as a university lecturer at the same university, Wiggers conducted research on machine learning, automatic speech recognition, language, and emotion. He has also developed methods for reflecting on values during the design and development process of digital technology. This year, Wiggers founded the HvA-wide Centre of Expertise Applied Artificial Intelligence and co-initiated the Professional Master Applied Artificial Intelligence.
