About Suzana Bašić



Suzana Bašić is a researcher in the Responsible IT group at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (AUAS), specializing in Responsible AI and Natural Language Processing (NLP). Her academic background spans English, Sociology and Computational Linguistics, giving her a broad, interdisciplinary perspective.

At AUAS, she works on implementing AI solutions in a responsible and ethical way. This includes developing real-world systems used by public institutions and refining general AI methodologies. Some of her projects have focused on using AI to improve juridical decision-making, enhance library book search algorithms and detect misinformation in text. She is particularly interested in neuro-symbolic AI, which involves utilizing neural pattern recognition to explicitly model the relationships between real-world entities and abstract concepts.
