
Philipp Darius works as a postdoctoral researcher in our lab. He is a social and political scientist whose research examines the intersection of political communication, digital technologies including online platforms and artificial intelligence, and democratic governance. His work focuses in particular on democratic elections, political campaigns, and the safeguarding of electoral integrity through the responsible governance of digital technologies in elections.
Philipp previously worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Centre for Digital Governance at the Hertie School, where he also completed his PhD. During this time, he was a visiting scholar at the Data Science Institute at the London School of Economics, an EUROLAB grant holder at GESIS, the Leibniz Institute for the Social Sciences, and a visiting postdoctoral fellow at the Mannheim Centre for European Social Research at the University of Mannheim. He has also consulted for media intelligence firms, NGOs, and foundations working in the digital technology sector.
