Zilin is a postdoctoral researcher at the Amsterdam School of Communication Research (ASCoR), affiliated with both the AI, Media and Democracy Lab and the RPA Human(e) AI. With a background in Computational Communication Science, her research focuses on responsible AI and digital journalism.
Within the lab, she works with media partners such as DPG Media and Omroep ZWART to investigate diversity in the newsroom. She also explores other topics, including the role of news users in the digital age and biases in large language models. Before joining the lab, she completed her PhD as part of the NEWSFLOWS project at ASCoR, during which she studied digital news consumption using data donations and online field experiments.
