In reporting on the wider public opposition to large AI companies racing to develop so-called “superintelligence”, NRC featured findings from our Lab’s research on the desire of citizens across the globe for AI to be regulated. The survey study conducted by Sophie Morosoli, Laurens Naudts, Nicolas Mattis, Natali Helberger, and Claes de Vreese was accompanied by insights from Claes de Vreese about the lack of certainty and academic agreement over the very definition of superintelligence.
