A report recently published by the US House of Representatives makes grave accusations against the European Commission for “censoring the global internet” and “harming American speech” through the DSA, specifically illustrated by the €120 million fine that X received for being in violation of the act. Our lab directors Claes de Vreese and Natali Helberger have spoken to Euronews to help clarify the goals of the DSA and explain its influence on US social media companies, as well as why this piece of regulation aimed at EU residents may have effects on US users too.
