As Trump’s second presidential term is approaching, tech companies like X, Meta and Amazon are making sure to be on good terms with the US government. These relations pose a direct threat to democracy and the rule of law. In an interview with Dutch newspaper Het Parool, Theresa Seipp warns: “The traditional separation of powers is undermined when private interests coincide with political power, leading to a dangerous concentration of authority.”
