The latest edition of the yearly ELSA Magazine, which follows the latest progress of AI ELSA labs in the Netherlands, has been released recently. Centered around the theme of collaboration, some of the projects of the AI, Media and Democracy Lab carried out jointly with other institutions and organizations in 2025 were in the spotlight.
The Lab’s collaboration with the Center for Advancing Safety of Machine Intelligence at Northwestern University, which resulted in a guidebook on Scenario-Based Sociotechnical Envisioning, was showcased for its creation of a shared research framework that takes into account various perspectives of the future when it comes to interactions between humans and technology.
Our collaboration with NEMO Kennislink on developing responsible content-based recommender systems, which recently came to a successful end, was also highlighted through an interview with Marcio Fückner and Ruth Visser about how they navigated the inter-institutional project.
